Signals
A signal only influences a squad when it can actually separate players. When the underlying data is missing it is marked as not reporting, sits at a neutral 50 for everybody, and is said so plainly here rather than being invented.

Where the data comes from
- Players, prices, points, expected goals and ICT : the official Fantasy Premier League API.
- Kick-off times, live and final scores, the real club table and club transfers: the live match feed, which is the primary source for real-world results. football-data.org is the backup for fixtures and remains the source for pre-season friendlies.
- Fixture difficulty ratings: the FPL API, refreshed with every sync.
- Weather at kick-off: Open-Meteo, keyed to each stadium's coordinates.
- Bookmakers' odds: only present once an odds provider key is configured. Until then the market signal reports as inactive rather than guessing.
- Team news and injury flags: blended from the official FPL status field and an external injury/press API when configured. If neither is present, the availability signal reports as not reporting and no one is guessed as fit.
